Been slacking with my location drawing recently, building things has taken a priority. These are a select few from what i've been drawing recently using animation pencils & brush pens.
The drawing below was done on the drive back from seeing my sister in Cambridge. Seeing her work was crazy inspiring (link to blog here) So i decided to buy a landscape sketchbook and try some larger in situ location drawings.
This was another of them, done using a biro in around 20 minutes in the Pret we always draw in
Really enjoyed this one! not worrying too much about detail, starting in one place (in this case the three older ladies in the far right corner) and working from there instead of mapping out the whole scene (a tip from my sister, start with something you want to draw and work from there). Also being left handed, it really helps to work from the right hand side of the page to the left, to avoid ridiculous amounts of smudging.
this is so good, i fail at capturing so much like this. i need more practise.
ReplyDeleteCheers man, i don't do it nearly enough. These are just my favourite ones from the last few weeks. Believe me, there's a lot of mediocre stuff mixed in there
